After activating your POS device (SmartPOS or Tap to Pay), you can enable different settings from your MultiSafepay payment app to enhance functionality.

Select an option below to explore the settings and features of your device.

Device differences

Available features may vary depending on your device:

SmartPOS (Sunmi terminals) support all features described below.

Tap to Pay (Android devices) supports all features except:

  • Additional Payment Methods, Tipping, Scan Order ID QR

Settings

To access and manage the settings for your device:

  1. Navigate to Features
  2. You will see a list of available settings, each controlled by a toggle switch.
  3. Tap a toggle to enable or disable the corresponding feature.
  4. After making your changes, tap the Back button to return to the main menu.


Global Settings

To enable or disable these features, go to Global Settings and click the corresponding toggle switch. See the settings available below:



Display Items

Shows the list of purchased items on the device's screen after a payment is initiated.

To enable this feature, click the Display items toggle.

Tipping

Adds a tipping screen before the payment is processed. On this screen, customers can:

  • Select a suggested amount
  • Enter a custom amount
  • Choose No Tip
  • Assign the tip to a specific employee

To enable this feature, click the Tipping toggle.

Print Receipts

Enables the option to print a physical receipt after a successful transaction.

To enable this feature, click the Print toggle.

You can also print receipts for refunds by accessing the transaction history. For more information, see history .

Hide MultiSafepay Logo

Hides the default MultiSafepay logo on the payment screen, allowing you to customize it with your own branding.

To enable this feature, click the Hide MultiSafepay logo toggle.



Payment

To enable or disable these features, go to Payment and click the corresponding toggle switch. See the settings available below:

Additional Payment Methods

Alipay+ is activated for your device by default as an additional payment method.

To manage this feature:

  1. Next to Additional Payment methods, click the dropdown icon and tap the toggle to enable or disable Alipay+.
  2. If the payment methods do not load, click Reload.

Order ID Input

Enables manual entry or QR code scanning to attach an Order ID to a transaction.

To enable this feature, click the Insert order toggle.

Refunds

Allows you to process full or partial refunds directly from the device's transaction history.

To issue a refund:

  1. Go to Features > History.
  2. Select the transaction and click Refund.
  3. Confirm the amount.

To enable this feature, click the Allow refunds toggle and enter your 4-digit PIN.

Zero Amount

Allows you to process a 0.00 transaction to verify that a customer's payment card is valid. The transaction will appear in your transaction overview.

To enable this feature, click the Allow Zero Amount toggle.

Cloud Mode

Switches the device to a cloud-based payment processing mode.

You can exit Cloud Mode. To do this:

  1. Tap and hold the screen for a few seconds.
  2. Enter the PIN code.

Closing Order Flow

Customize the duration that the payment confirmation screen is displayed before closing automatically.

This setting determines how long the confirmation screen remains visible before returning to your app.
If set to disabled, you must manually click Close Order at the end of a transaction.



Navigation

Customize your navigation flow. You can add a cancellation button for your payment screen and hide the system navigation bar.

Go to Navigation and click the corresponding toggle switch. the settings available below:

Cancel Button

Displays a dedicated Cancel❌ button, allowing users to easily cancel a transaction.

To enable this feature, click the Cancel button toggle. Click Back at the top of your screen to return to the main screen.

Hide System Navigation

Hides the default system navigation bar for your device.

To enable this feature, click the System navigation toggle. Click Back to return to the main screen.



Features

Configure and access the app's features. Check the possible options for the list of features below.

Security

You can change your PIN code or unbind your device from your current account.

To change the PIN code:

  1. Go to Security and insert your 4-digit PIN Code.
  2. Enter the default PIN code.
  3. Click Change and then enter your new PIN code.
  4. Click ✔.

To unbind your device:

  1. Go to Security and insert your 4-digit PIN Code.
  2. Click Unbind and confirm.


About

Under About, you will find the device's specifications.

Lists

Shows the list of employees you add at the tipping screen. To know how to add employees to your list, see Tipping - Global settings. To access the Lists screen, enter your PIN code.

From the Lists screen, you can remove employees individually or remove all:

  • To remove individually, select the employee and click OK to delete.
  • To remove the complete list, click 🗑️ and then click OK.


Closing balance

You can generate a report summarizing total sales, broken down by payment method and including tips, for a specific 24-hour period.

To view your closing balance:

  1. Go to Features > Closing balance.
  2. Set the following:
    • Select if you want to view the closing balance for Today, Yesterday, or select a specific day.
    • Insert a Start hour (0-23). The closing balance will show the transactions starting from the inserted hour up until the next day, e.g., if Start hour is set to 10, the period begins at 10:00 AM and ends at 09:59 AM the next day.
    • Select Report level from the dropdown menu. You can choose between:
      • Company: Shows the balance for all terminal groups.
      • Group: Shows the balance for the terminal group the device is linked to.
      • Current Device: Shows the balance for transactions processed on your device.
  3. Click View to generate your report.


External printer

In addition to built-in printers on supported SmartPOS devices, you can use the Sunmi kitchen cloud printer via:

  • Bluetooth
  • Wi-Fi
  • USB connections

You can set it up within your app:

  1. Via Settings, go to External printer.
  2. Press Discover.
  3. Select Connection Type.
  4. List of printers available is displayed.
  5. When a payment is completed, click the printer icon to print your receipt.


History

You can check your transaction history and filter searches, process refunds, or print a receipt for a given transaction.

In the transaction history screen, click Filter to modify the search parameters. Here, you can search by:

  • Refunded transactions
  • Transaction amount
  • Transaction date
  • Transaction status
  • Payment method used to process the payment

To process a refund, click the relevant transaction you want to reimburse and click Refund. A new transaction will appear in your Transaction history, with a Refunded flag.

To print a receipt, go to the relevant transaction and click the printer 🖨️ icon. You can use our built-in printer if your device supports it, or an external printer

Configure global settings for your device from the settings options.

How to switch languages

You can switch the language for your device. This will also change the language for your MultiSafepay app.

How to change the language on a SmartPOS terminal
  1. Go to your Sunmi's Android Settings.
  2. Go to System > Languages & input > Languages.
  3. Here, you can add, manage and remove languages.
  4. To set a language to default, drag it to the first position.
  5. The selected language will now be configured for your MultiSafepay app.
How to change the language for Tap to Pay
  1. Go to your devices Android Settings.
  2. Use the searchbar to look up Languages.
  3. Select your preferred language.
  4. The selected language will now be configured for your MultiSafepay app.




How to update the MultiSafepay App

You can manually update our app:

  1. Open the App store on your device.
  2. Select the MultiSafepay App.
  3. To update to the latest version:
    • For Tap to Pay, click Update
    • For SmartPOS, the app will update automatically after being selected in the app list

We recommend keeping our app updated to take full advantage of our latest functionalities.
