No-code: QR & Payment links

You can manually generate a link to a payment page to pass to a customer to complete payment.

How it works

  1. You create a payment link from your MultiSafepay dashboard.
  2. You fill the required fields, such as the amount, currency, order ID, description and website name.
  3. You generate a payment link that you can send to your customer.

Check the possible use cases for no-code payment links and QR codes:

A customer wants to repeat the same order. You can create a duplicate in your MultiSafepay dashboard and send the link to them. You can modify the name, description, amount, etc.

You can also use this function in case a bank transfer has expired.

Activation

No activation is required.

How to create a payment link

To create a payment link, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard .
  2. Go to Transactions > Payment links.
  3. Click New payment link.

When creating a payment link, the following details are required:

You can create payment links using simple mode or advanced mode:

Create a payment link with the basic necessary information to create an order. Aside from the required details, you can add the following information:

  • Enable second chance emails
  • The customer's:
    • First and last name
    • Email address
    • Country
    • Preferred language

After entering the details, click Generate payment link. A URL and a QR are generated. You can send either to your customer to complete the payment.

If you want to clear all inputs, click Reset.

Generate a link for existing transactions

You can create payment links from existing transactions.

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard .
  2. Go to Transactions > Transaction overview, and then click the relevant transaction.
  3. On the Transaction details page, under Order summary, click Generate payment link > Duplicate this order.

Link lifetimes

The lifetime of a payment link is how long it remains active for the customer to access the payment page and complete payment. The default is 30 days.

How to adjust link lifetimes

To modify a link's lifetime, enter the number of days for the link to remain active to the Link expiry field.

This only applies to certain payment methods:

WalletsPayPal – Links are valid for 14 days. The lifetime is set by PayPal.

Cancellation

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard .
  2. Go to Transactions > Payment links.
  3. Next to the relevant payment link, click the red cross Cancel payment link icon. The order status changes to cancelled.

Duplication

If you need to generate multiple payment links, you can speed up the process by cloning existing links.

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard .
  2. Go to Transactions > Payment links.
  3. Next to the relevant payment link, click the blue Clone icon. A new Payment links window opens with the same details prefilled.
  4. Click Generate payment link.

Number of attempts

The customer can open the link to the payment page up to 20 times, after which the link is disabled.

Each attempt creates a new transaction with the same order_id. If the customer completes payment in one of these transactions, the [status]/docs/payment-statuses#payment-statuses) of the other transactions changes to Duplicate.

Overview and statuses

For an overview of all payment links:

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard .
  2. Go to Transactions > Payment links.
Payment link statusDescription
ActiveThe customer hasn't paid yet.
CancelledYou cancelled the link.
CompletedThe customer has paid.
DeclinedThe payment was declined by the customer's payment service or the acquirer.
DuplicateThe customer completed payment in a duplicate transaction.
ExpiredThe link lifetime has expired.

Payment methods

All payment methods are supported.

The payment page displays all payment methods activated for the relevant website. If you want to display specific payment methods, you need to create a new website profile with only the relevant methods activated.
