Installation and configuration

To integrate MultiSafepay as your payment service provider, follow these steps:

In your dashboard

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard.
  2. Go to Websites, and add the required website(s) to your account.
  3. In the Website profile page for each website:

In Coppermine

  1. Sign in to your Coppermine backend, and then go to Settings.
  2. To configure the MultiSafepay PaymentMethod Gateway, enter your:
    • MultiSafepay account ID
    • Site ID, API key, and security code

Testing

  1. Place some test orders in your webshop and Coppermine backend.
  2. Check the transactions in Coppermine and your MultiSafepay dashboard.
  3. When everything is working correctly, in your Coppermine backend, set the PaymentMethod Gateway to Production mode.

Divide

Divide provides a free plugin to integrate with MultiSafepay.

Installation and configuration

  1. Sign in to your Ecwid backend and install the MultiSafepay app from the App Store.
  2. Go to Ecwid control panel > Settings > Payment page.
  3. For each payment method, change the Payment processor value to MultiSafepay, and click Save.
  4. Click the MultiSafepay account details link.
  5. Enter your account ID, website ID, and security code.
  6. Save the changes and enable your selected payment methods.

LogiCommerce

Logicommerce provides a plugin to integrate with MultiSafepay.

Installation and configuration

No installation is required to use the MultiSafepay plugin for LogiCommerce. It is available directly under Settings > Plugins.

The LogiCommerce plugin configuration consists of two parts:

  1. Plugin configuration:
    1. Sign in to your LogiCommerce backend.
    2. Go to Settings > Plugins and locate the MultiSafepay plugin.
  2. Checkout configuration:
    1. Go to Settings > Payment Systems.
    2. To display the available payment methods at checkout, create a new payment system in LogiCommerce.
    3. Click New payment system and follow the steps to create a payment system linked to the MultiSafepay plugin. During this process, you'll be asked to provide:
      • Connection parameters for the MultiSafepay API
      • The execution environment (sandbox or production)
    4. Once created, edit the payment system to select the specific MultiSafepay payment method. This payment method will then be associated to the payment system in LogiCommerce.

Accounts

LogiCommerce's plugin system allows you to create multiple MultiSafepay accounts. This is useful if you want to use several MultiSafepay accounts within the same ecommerce store.

Checkouts

The plugin supports both direct and redirect solutions.

You can filter payment methods by:

  • Users and user groups
  • Countries and zones
  • Currencies

Currencies

Prices are automatically displayed in the user's local currency.

You can configure currency conversion with two options:

  • Use the billing currency
  • Set a specific currency

In both cases, you can define a list of allowed currencies. These will not be converted. For all other browsing currencies, conversion will be applied.

Payment methods

All payment methods are supported for LogiCommerce. For each payment method you want to use, you must create a LogiCommerce payment system of type MultiSafepay, and link it to the specific method. At checkout, a list of all configured payment systems will be shown.

If you prefer to redirect users to the MultiSafepay payment page to select their preferred payment method, you can configure the payment system to handle the redirect flow.

Recurring payments

Recurring payments are supported.

To enable this feature:

  1. Go to Settings > Payment Systems.
  2. Edit the MultiSafepay payment system.
  3. Enable the "tokenizable" option and click Save.

⚠️ Note: Recurring payments must be enabled for your account.

Refunds

Full and partial refunds are supported via your MultiSafepay dashboard and your LogiCommerce backend.

You cannot refund more than the original transaction amount.

Updates

No manual updates are needed for the MultiSafepay plugin. LogiCommerce handles updates automatically, ensuring that the plugin is always up to date.

Installation and configuration

💡 Tip! We recommend first installing the plugin in a test environment, following the Mijnwebwinkel installation procedure. Always make a backup.

  1. Sign in to your Mijnwebwinkel backend.
  2. Go to Online orders > Payment method > MultiSafepay.
  3. Add your MultiSafepay account ID, website ID, website security code, and API key.
  4. Select the relevant payment methods.

How to change payment method order in checkout

To change the order of payment methods in your checkout, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Mijnwebwinkel - Sorting.
  2. Select Sort manually, defined below.
  3. Drag and drop the active payment methods to change the order.

Surcharges

Surcharges are supported.

⚠️

Attention Dutch merchants

We strongly recommend not applying surcharges to BNPL orders. This is now considered providing credit under the Wet op het consumentenkrediet and article 7:57 of the Burgerlijk Wetboek, and requires a permit from the Authority for Financial Markets (AFM).

Known error

When customers successfully complete payment with iDEAL, they don't always return to your website, which can briefly delay the transaction status changing to Completed.

If your business model requires you to retrieve the status as quickly as possible, MultiSafepay can enable a script to query iDEAL 5 times in the first minute, and then every minute until Completed.

Integration and testing

To integrate MultiSafepay as your payment provider, follow these steps:

Step 1

Activate the MultiSafepay module in your HostBill account.

  1. Sign in to your HostBill account.
  2. Click Extras > Plugins.
  3. From the left menu, select Payment modules > MultiSafepay.
  4. Click Edit general settings, and then enter your MultiSafepay website API key. Ensure to use the correct API key for your environment (test or live).
  5. Click Save changes.

Step 2

Configure the module as required, e.g. the module name and callback URL.

Step 3

Perform a test transaction.

  1. Go to the top menu and select Clients > Manage clients, and then click the sample client account John Doe.
  2. Click Login as client.
    You are redirected to the client area.
  3. From the left menu, select Billing to view the client's invoices.
  4. Choose an invoice, and then click Pay selected invoices.
  5. Perform a test transaction.
  6. When the transaction is complete, check its status under Payments.

Twikey

  1. Sign in to your Twikey account.
  2. Go to Settings > Integrations > MultiSafepay.
  3. Enter your MultiSafepay website API key.
  4. To add a payment link to your invoices, update your invoice settings in your Twikey template settings for MultiSafepay.
  5. To create a payment link, go to Payment links and enter the relevant information, e.g. amount, customer.
