Maestro, How does it work?

Maestro payments are processed as a credit card payment. Therefore, credit card payments must be enabled within your MultiSafepay account to process a Maestro payment. Submit your request to enable credit cards (Visa, Mastercard en Maestro) to your account manager or contact us at [email protected]

A Maestro payment is always validated with the 3D secure code. The 3D secure is a requirement of Maestro.

Credit card transaction received by MultiSafepay, will be processed through our fraud filter.

The following status are important when receiving a credit card payment.

Transaction & order status Description
Completed Payment is accepted and added to your MultiSafepay account.
Uncleared The payment is offered to you. You decide whether you want to accept or decline an uncleared transaction. Click here for further information about an uncleared status.
Declined The transaction is declined by the account holders issuing bank or by MultiSafepay. Click here for further information about the declined status.

Maestro is a direct payment method. Despite the fact that it corresponds to a credit card payment, it is still a debit card payment. Meaning, that a successful payment can not be reversed by the customer.
