MultiSafepay plugin for Drupal 8 & 9

Easily integrate MultiSafepay payment solutions into your Drupal 8 webshop with the free plugin.



This manual helps merchants process MultiSafepay payments as quickly as possible from a Drupal 8 & 9 webshop. For some steps in this manual, assistance from your technical partner may be required.

The installation can be carried out in three ways:

  • Composer
  • SFTP
  • Backend

In this manual we describe the installation via Composer.

Please note: Security updates for Drupal 8.9.x are no longer provided by Drupal. Drupal 8.9.x receives bugfix support until early 2021 and security fixes until November 2021. To learn more about upgrading from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9, visit Drupal’s documentation

We recommend you to install the plugin first on a test environment, and make sure you have made a backup.

We advise you to install the plugin through the recommended ways of the specific webshop system.

1. Requirements - Drupal 8.9 and above or Drupal 9.x

  • Tested on PHP 7.2
  • Drupal Commerce 2.x

2. Installation

For installing the latest stable version of our Drupal Commerce 2.x plugin please run the following command in your terminal

composer require drupal/commerce_multisafepay_payments

After running these commands, the latest stable release is downloaded and installed within your Drupal Commerce 2.x webshop.

3. Configuration

  1. Log in to the backend of your webshop and navigate to Commerce > Configuration > Payments > MultiSafepay settings. On this page you can fill in your API details.

    Information on where to find your Account ID, Site ID, Site code or API key can be found on our API key page.

  2. Navigate to Commerce > Configuration > Payments > Payment gateways. This page contains the configuration options for all payment methods supported by MultiSafepay.
    Be sure that you have the selected payment methods active in your MultiSafepay Control

Can I refund orders?

Yes, you can directly from your Drupal backend.
You can also refund from your MultiSafepay Control

Generic gateways Drupal

The MultiSafepay plugin for Drupal 8 & 9 offers generic gateways.

You can find the generic gateway in your Drupal backend. Navigate to Commerce > Configuration > Payments > Payments Gateways > Add payment gateway > Generic Gateway

All of our payment methods are supported. It is possible to set the gateway code and the gateway label.

How can I update the plugin for Drupal 8?

Generally, there are three ways to update a plugin. This can be done through the backend and through the marketplace from a CMS or through SFTP. We will be describing the necessary steps to update a plugin via SFTP.

Before you update the plugin, we strongly recommend you the following:

  • Make sure you have a backup of your production environment
  • Test the plugin in a staging environment.
