Managing websites

To set up your account, you must add at least one website, for which we generate an API key.

You can add an unlimited number of websites to your MultiSafepay account, but they must all be operated by the same legal entity linked to that account.

To process payments from a website operated by a separate legal entity, you must sign up for an additional MultiSafepay account.

You can add an unlimited number of users to your MultiSafepay account. All users on one account share the same secure code. You can disable but not delete users.

Activating payment methods

You can enable payment methods yourself in your dashboard, but for some you need to apply to MultiSafepay first. Other methods with specific requirements follow their own activation flow.

Viewing VAT invoices

For payment methods where MultiSafepay is the collecting party, we are required to charge VAT on all:

  • Transaction, payout, and refund fees, which are charged during processing. The transaction fee total is the sum of all processed and completed transactions within a specified timeframe plus the universal transaction fee agreed when you created an account with MultiSafepay.

Unmasking IBANs

International bank account numbers (IBANs) are sensitive data. For security reasons, we mask them so that only the last 4 digits are visible, e.g. *** 1234.

You can still perform most business operations with masked IBANs, e.g. processing refunds.

To add funds to your MultiSafepay balance, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard.
  2. Go to Finance > Fund account.
  3. Select the currency and amount you want to add to your balance.
  4. Select the payment method you want to use for the transaction.
  5. Click Send.

Setting up customer emails

MultiSafepay can help you manage your email communications with customers. Use our preformatted and/or prewritten templates and populate them with your content.

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard.

  2. Go to Settings > Email templates.

  3. Click the relevant website.

  4. Click Add new template.

  5. From the Type list, select the template type.

Uploading files

To upload files to MultiSafepay (e.g. during onboarding or when challenging chargebacks), follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your MultiSafepay dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings > Files.
  3. Under Upload a new file, click Choose file.
  4. Select the relevant file(s), and then click Open.
  5. Under Upload queue, to upload:
    • A specific file, click Upload.
    • A batch of files, click Upload all.
Payment statuses

There are two statuses for each payment that update as it is processed.

In your MultiSafepay dashboard, go to Transaction overview, and then select the relevant transaction to open the Transaction details page. Under Status history, you can see the order status and transaction status:
